History

W. Randall Rock was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio.   As an accomplished baseball player in his youth he set his sights on continuing his love for that sport at "the next level".  In his senior year in high school he was recruited to play at Ohio University, which at the time had just completed a fourth place finish in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.  He attended and graduated from Ohio University but, like many who aspire to play professional sports, that dream went unfulfilled.  He then had, you might say, a "Field of Dreams" moment and decided to become a professional on another "field".  The field of law.  While an undergraduate student at Ohio University he applied for and was accepted as a legislative intern in the Ohio Senate where he worked full time at the State Capital in Columbus, Ohio and at the side of State Senator, Charlie Butts of Cleveland, Ohio.  When his internship in the Senate was completed he applied for and was hired to serve another legislative internship, this time in the Ohio House of Representatives, working along side of State Representative, Mike Stinziano of Columbus, Ohio.  After graduating from Ohio University, with what amounted to a dual major in Political Science and Philosophy, he set his sights on law school and enrolled at the University of Dayton, School of Law.  Upon graduation from the University of Dayton School of Law he decided to remain in Dayton, Ohio and accepted a position as an associate lawyer in an established general practice law firm located in downtown Dayton.  While there he gained valuable experience in many areas of the law and became well rounded and well versed in the disciplines and areas of the law he still practices today.  After six years of practice, and in 1990, he took a position in a large and newly formed personal injury law firm.  There he became a member of its litigation unit and was responsible for litigating cases the firm could not settle with insurance companies.  After all those many years, and with the knowledge and experience gained, W. Randall Rock formed his own law firm and law office dedicated to helping people solve legal problems. His experience has taught him, and it should go without saying, that when people hire a lawyer they should expect to be represented by the lawyer they hire.  In most large law firms this is not always the case.  Often times, in the larger law firms, people initially meet with one lawyer in the firm and then are represented by yet another, and then another, as their case proceeds to conclusion.  While this model of practicing law is not necessarily inadequate, we believe that often times continuity in the representation of the client is sometimes sacrificed.
